The Exhibition
April 17–June 4, 2026
Couse-Sharp Historic Site
Taos, New Mexico, USA
The Taos Society of Artists left a profound artistic and social legacy. Inspired by the light, landscape, culture, and people of Taos valley, 12 artists shared their skills and resources to achieve together an impact that far outweighs what they could have accomplished as individuals. They were both drivers and beneficiaries of social and economic factors that created a new zeitgeist in early 20th-century America. Their shared vision, of creating a uniquely American art, permanently influenced not only the world of art but also prevailing perceptions of Native America and the West.
The assembled artists in this exhibition, La Luz de Taos 2026, represent a breadth of backgrounds and mediums, drawing inspiration from the vast landscape and culturally diverse peoples of Taos and the American West. Together their work presents a contemporary vision of our region, its people, and the nuanced history and traditions imbued in the landscape. It can be said that the legacy of the Taos Society of Artists rests with these artists, to remind us of the beauty that surrounds us and to encourage us to appreciate the richness of culture that makes us stronger as a people and a nation.
The Art and the Artists
We thank our stellar array of artists for their generosity in donating large portions of the proceeds from sales to benefit Couse-Sharp Historic Site. Those who are supporting our programs with a 100% donation are noted with a ☆ by the price.
For the vast majority of the artwork, prices are fixed, set by the artists. Four artworks were sold via maximum, secret bid. The price shown is exclusive of credit card fees (3% upcharge) and any packing and shipping costs that the buyer may choose to incur. All two-dimensional artworks are framed. Photos of the exhibition artworks courtesy of the artists and staff.
Most artwork was sold during gala weekend. However, several of the artworks can still be purchased. See the exhibition page and individual artist pages to determine which are available for sale. If you are interested, please email us or call 575-751-0369 to inquire.
