This Was Always OUR Land, 2026, ink and colored pencil on ledger, 17.25 x 22.25 in.

Jeremy Dylan Cavin, an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation, hails from Chickasha, Oklahoma. He embarked on his artistic journey at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, and it was during his time at the university that his passion for painting and figure drawing began. Following his education, Cavin enlisted in the military. After a leg injury that resulted in an honorable discharge, Cavin delved into various artistic disciplines, including photography, tattooing, and sequential art. Over the years, he has received prestigious commissions, including from the Oklahoma Arts Council for a portrait commemorating the Choctaw Code Talkers of World War I, which now adorns the walls of the Oklahoma State Capitol, paying homage to the invaluable contributions of Choctaw servicemen during the war. Over the course of his artistic journey, Cavin has channeled his creativity and forged connections with audiences worldwide. Whether through graphic design, painting, photography, or tattooing, his talents have contributed to his success as an artist of profound expression.
